Accessibility Fundamentals for Instructors and Course Designers is a facilitated fully online course designed to provide participants with a broad knowledge of accessibility issues in educational environments. Participants will learn how disabilities can limit access to electronic instructional materials, and what they can do to make their course content as accessible as possible to the greatest number of learners. 

Skills learned in this course are not Blackboard-specific, and can be applied to materials created and deployed in any LMS.

The goal of this facilitated course is to help participants with online course facilitation. This course will introduce participants to the many facets of online facilitation to build skills in four areas: technical, managerial, social, and pedagogical. Finally, to synthesize all you have learned, you will build a Facilitation Checklist to help guide your ongoing facilitation needs. 

This course focuses on course facilitation and is not platform-specific; therefore, it is relevant to all users, no matter the system participants plan to use for delivering courses.

The goal of this course is to help teachers get started with online course design.Participants will learn about delivery approaches, course structure and flow, design strategies, and best practices for online course design. It provides an Online Course Planning Document to use while planning and designing online courses. A course facilitator will review submitted design documents and provide feedback to course participants.

This course focuses on course design and is not platform-specific; therefore, it is relevant to all users, no matter the system participants plan to use for delivering courses.

This self-paced course teaches you not only to configure your site but also how to be an effective and efficient site administrator in the long term. With topics aligning to each area of the site Administration panel, you will learn about managing users and courses, configuring your site to be secure, and more!

Take your courses to the next level by learning the advanced features of Moodle/Open LMS. This course focuses on creating activities that add collaboration, increase interactivity, and gain student feedback. It also covers the Personalized Learning Designer, Open Reports, ways to monitor progress, gamification features such as badges and H5P, groups and groupings, activity grading, outcomes, competencies, select third-party plug-ins, and course building best practices.

Delivery mode: Facilitated | Time investment: 14-16 hrs. 

Get started in Open LMS by learning how to navigate in the system and use its basic functionality to build courses. This course focuses on topics such as building resources and activities, configuring the gradebook, managing files, tracking completion, restricting access, adding videos, communicating with students, and using course management tools. You will also learn best practices to follow as you build your online courses and how to grade using the activity graders and the Open Grader.

Delivery Mode: Facilitated | Time Investment: 16-18 hrs.

This self-paced course is designed for faculty, teachers, course builders, trainers, and site administrators who are new to Moodle, as well as those who are who are migrating from another Learning Management System and want to understand the core features of Moodle. It includes an overview of Moodle, how to navigate within it, how it may be customized, reviews the basic components of a Moodle course, introduces basic course design and course building information, and introduces course management information. This course is not facilitated.
